Austin and Jeremy had their family and friends witness their lovely wedding at the Fleur de Lis in Mandeville, one of our favorite local venues. It has a stellar decor that was literally designed for weddings. We had done the wedding for one of Austin’s best friends and bridesmaids, so it was like a second family wedding for us in a sense. Austin is a hairdresser in Slidell, so she had a lot of help getting ready for her big day.

We always look forward to weddings at The Balcony. The setting allows for an easy flow to the event, and the staff do a great job of keeping things going smoothly. This means everyone is relaxed and enjoying the celebration of the bride and grooms special day. And that means great photos. I love the group shot we did of everyone at the wedding, having the balcony upstairs makes it possible to get a photo like that, a unique location in that respect.

Lauren and Kyle’s wedding was at St. Peter Catholic Church, one of the oldest in Covington, and the favorite catholic church in the covington area it seems as we’ve done many weddings there over the years. It’s a large church, and for some reason all the guests decided to sit in the back pews, which left many of the front ones open. Not sure why they did that, but a good tip is to make sure your ushers seat people in the front pews first, and work their way back. But all went well none the less. The reception followed at Benedict’s Plantation in Mandeville, the main ballroom was beautifully lighted by Countdown Sound, with their uplighting the reception was lovely and lively.

Wedding: St. Genevieve Catholic Church, Thibodaux, LA
Reception: Bayou Country Club, Thibodaux, LA
We traveled to Thibodaux to photograph and video Hope and Michael’s wedding. We arrived at Dansereau House, a lovely Victorian Bed & Breakfast downtown to get photos of Hope and her bridesmaids getting ready. The house made a great location with plenty of room to move around and get some nice shots of all the activities. Then on to St. Genevieve, which has some wonderful arches, giving it an open interior that allows for lots of angles to photograph. Everyone had a great time at the Bayou Country Club, with the band making for a lively party.

Wedding & Reception: Hyatt French Quarter, New Orleans, LA
Dijana & Gabriel came to New Orleans to have their wedding at the Hyatt French Quarter. It was a rather small affair, but quite enchanting with the lovely decorations for the ceremony and reception rooms. After the reception, we took a few photos outside and in the lobby, it’s a charming hotel for such events, nestled away just a couple of blocks off Bourbon street.

It was a beautiful day for Kimberly & Benjamin to have their wedding at the Castle, they had a special moment when their dog brought up the wedding rings during the ceremony.

Dominique & Jay started their wedding day at the Hyatt Regency, downtown New Orleans. The lobby offers a lavish setting for portraits. Then off to Southern Oaks Plantation, one of the finest locations for ceremony & reception in New Orleans. They had a 2nd Line band to cap off the ceremony, bringing the bride & groom back to the reception. They had a fabulous time with their friends and family, dancing and having fun, nobody wanted to leave.

Julie & Michael’s wedding day started at the Sheraton Hotel on Canal St., where we photographed the bride and groom in their rooms. We had planned to do photos in the lobby, but it was being renovated. We made do, and the photos came out very nice. On to St. Anthony of Padua Church, further up on Canal, where they had a lovely ceremony, followed by a group photo of the entire bridal party in front of the church. Julie had originally wanted everyone jumping in the air, which I hesitate to try as someone could get hurt. I suggested we have everyone walking toward the camera arm-in-arm, which worked perfectly. We hurried to the Magnolia Plantation for the reception, which capped off the evening with everyone having a great time.

Jennifer and Kyle had an intimate wedding with family and friends at the Fleur de Lis in Mandeville on a beautiful October evening. The setting for the ceremony was outside in the courtyard with lovely candle lights on the aisle. The reception was in the Jazz Room (also called the Red Room), which has the spectacular lights to make for dramatic dance photos. Everyone had a great time, and the evening ended with a sparkler send off for the bride and groom.

We had a great time at Latoya & Randy’s wedding, there were many family and close friends in attendance which made for an emotional ceremony and non-stop celebration during the reception. The pre-ceremony coverage started at the Hyatt Regency near the Superdome, which has a fabulous newly renovated lobby, making for a spectacular location for bride and groom portraits. The ceremony & reception was at the lovely Champagne Palace, making for a memorable New Orleans event I’m sure nobody will soon forget.

Katy & Gary had a little change from the typical ceremony at Southern Oaks, instead of the bride arriving in the horse drawn carriage, she arrived in a lovely vintage early 60’s Buick LeSabre convertible. This car made a fabulous entrance for Katy, and a grand exit for the bride and groom. It kicked off a great reception party.

Erica & Brian had a lovely wedding cermony at the beautiful Vintage Court. The large oak tree by the Rennasiance Room is one of the more dramatic outdoor locations for a memorable ceremony.
